Your role In this global role, you are part of the Drug Substances (DS) leadership team and responsible for developing the strategies and the achievement of continuous quality service, and productivity improvements for the global DS network. This is achieved by establishing and implementing global programs that support the network and site objectives. You are responsible for our six DS sites in Switzerland (Zofingen and Evionnaz), Germany (Minden), France (St. Vulbas), U.S. (Pennsville) and China (Nantong). This involves approx. 40% of business travels. Furthermore, you act in a matrix organization which includes functional leadership responsibility on various sites. Preferably, you are located at our headquarters in Zofingen, however any of our European DS sites can be considered as well. We are looking for a high performing, credible professional, with a record of accomplishment of successfully managing major improvement initiatives. Somebody who is passionate about leading operational excellence organizations, possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity, ability to network and communicate with top management of various functions, strong cross-functional overview and possesses knowledge of the pharmaceutical/chemical business. Your major responsibilities: OPEX Process Programm management, project selection and prioritization Establish improvement programs based on business needs Prioritize projects and resources to support global and regional strategies and key objectives, aligned with the DS leadership team OPEX Project Execution and Operational Support Project execution Run projects on a global level and deliver on milestones, deliverables and financial targets using OPEX tools and methodologies Manage the project portfolio and progress reporting Right hand of the COO DS providing ad-hoc operational support (e.g. supply or quality issues etc.) OPEX Knowledge and capabilities Develop people in OPEX capability within the organization Mentor and coach site OPEX champions on method, in execution and use of tools Develop, deploy and manage the global communication/branding and change management plan Your profile Education University degree in technical or business discipline, science or pharmaceutical technology or equivalent 10 years' experience in a similar role within the API, chemical or pharmaceutical field Experience in Operations, Supply Chain Management or Engineering Desirable further training in: Sophisticated statistical knowledge (e.g. MVDA) Project management/coaching Change management Communication Languages Fluent in English, spoken and written.
