Technical Project Leader (m/w/x) Responsibilities You are in charge of the functional management of the technical project team during the project development phases, and coordinate and distribute the tasks to your colleagues You ensure the fulfillment of the technical project targets (scope, timing, quality and costs related to the development), mediate and escalate in case of deviations on the development targets You plan, control and track the engineering activities according to the overall project plan and targets coming from the project manager (including development cost, budget, schedule and quality targets) You coordinate the technical team to assess the project-related risks and elaborate recovery plans that you then ensure the implementation You are accountable for the engine BOM readiness and Life Cycle from prototype to pre-series, by coordinating the activities of the technical teams You are responsible for the final technical release of the complete system (HW, SW, DS), according to the subsystems' validation and release coming from the technical lines You report the technical status of projects (work in progress, issues, risks...) to the core team and to the development management You actively support the Project Manager in aligning the development schedule, sharing the technical documentation and ensure the acceptance of technical solutions (industrialization, production, customer service, ...) during development phases You are responsible for the preparation of the technical presentations for management reviews, technical and steering committees and have an active involvement in activities for project quality improvement and the development processes Competencies You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering and a global experience in the combustion engine development area You have minimum 5 years' experience in engine development and a first experience in the coordination of a project team within a matrix organization You are linguistically proficient in English, German and/or French would be an asset You have advanced knowledge on Microsoft Project You enjoy coordinating activities and teams in a matrix organization As a person, you have a strong business acumen with developed leadership skills, social competencies and communication skills You are recognized for your strong assertiveness and you easily motivate others through a common objective Our Offer Can we inspire you to take on a responsible position in a dynamic and independent family business? Due to the expansion of our development globally and to maintain delivering high quality customer service and the best products to our partners, we are now looking for a Mechanical Lead Engineer for our e-System Thermal division. Our Lead Engineers work directly with customers to understand their requirements, their needs, and then successfully convert these into the product design. The Lead Engineers then manage the entire project, working with cross-functional teams, transferring knowledge to engineers to ensure we deliver the required product in time. Your responsibilities will be to: Successfully drive and manage the product development process for actuators and valves, while tracking against milestones and working within time and cost constraints Design: turn research ideas and customer needs into technical plans according to internal processes, including change management Testing/validation: track progress, review test results and communicate next steps or escalate if needed; reporting on regular basis to management and customers Quality: support in case of quality issues, identification of root cause and development of sorting methods Research and Development: collaborate with corporate engineering team for product development, collaborate with global engineering teams for components design and specifications, fixture designs and change management V Cycle, FMEA, PLM: document according to the development process, periodical updates and living documentation Environmental assessment: consider the environmental impact of new products and their manufacturing processes and how they would be safely disposed Define standard engineering process and best practice in the Lessons Learned Database and apply them to every new development Be the technical lead for all projects while adapting to the company's digital transformation and automation for Mechanics, HW Electronics, Software, DC-motor, Purchased components and others Leading by example, be the leader who supports others in succeeding, acting as a role model Our requirements: Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering or similar Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a modern manufacturing environment in the automotive industry (plastic and metal processing) Excellent working knowledge of 3D engineering tools (preferably Unigraphics NX); the ASPICE environment; and FMEA processes Experience in developing high volume series in the automotive field The ability to work independently and systematically Disciplined use of mandatory processes and natural authority A reliable, and conscientious personality who can successfully co-ordinate the work of globally situated teams Excellent communication skills in English.
