As an experienced Project Manager in partnership with Program Owners, you will ensure category programs and projects are effectively defined, led, successfully executed and delivered end-to-end in line with the PMI strategy and portfolio. You are the “glue” of the Integrated Project Team. More specifically, you'll • Define, plan and lead cross-functional projects and programs, combining rigor and precision with flexibility and agility, in alignment with the LS strategy, within agreed business benefits, scientific objectives, scope, budget, resources and timing; whilst adhering to quality and scientific standards, defining and using project management processes and agile principles • Lead project resourcing processes, including resource estimating and ensuring appropriate resource allocation, as well as the budget, participating actively in several steps of financial life cycle • Supervise program and project Steering committees to advise and ensure effective decision making and corrective action where required, as well as accurate status reporting. Your ‘day to day’ As a Life Sciences Portfolio Manager, you will ensure the overall portfolio of programs and projects in the inhalable delivery and medical applications space are effectively identified, defined, managed, and delivered end-to-end, in partnership with the Category owner and Portfolio Management peers. More specifically, you'll • Manage the portfolio with the aim of improving efficiency and use of resources to achieve strategic priorities. Discuss, challenge and weigh technical options with the project team and the customer. Provide advice and insights towards the strategy definition, including pipeline planning and development of category objectives, goals and measures• Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g. Product, Consumer, Discovery, etc.) to engage on upstream innovation initiatives and pipeline prioritization to support the strategy definition and cross-functional alignment. • Lead efforts, in collaboration with project owners and project managers, to ensure a documented, accurate and integrated view and reporting across life sciences and functions of category programs and projects.• Collaborate with all portfolio managers to combine a single integrated life sciences portfolio of projects and programs. • Lead and guide the intake of new projects and review of ongoing projects within the category portfolio• Improve category value by ensuring short-, mid- and long-term strategic fit (e.g. value space and strategic priorities), risk-return, time-to-completion, appropriate resources, etc. of new and ongoing projects• Guide the creation of and interpret reports on category performance and recommend improvement initiatives (e.g. to solve pain-points). • Act as central point of integration for category view, senior management reporting and communication with relevant partners.Who we’re looking for• Scientific or Business degree, minimum MSc or equivalent• Demonstrated experience in Life-science/pharma/bio-tech industry, handling sophisticated Programs & Portfolio management• Good understanding of scientific concepts and the drug development value chain• Experience in identifying and building external alliances & partnerships. • Good communication, influencing and leadership skills. • Ability to grasp and communicate sophisticated concepts simply and clearly• Systemic thinking – able to see inter-connections and dependencies. • Comfort with ambiguity and with senior management. • Self-managing and ability to deliver through others without direct line authority• Strong business & consumer orientation and critical thinking. • Developed collaborative and problem-solving skills• Proficiency in MS Office Suite• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.What we offer Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.Join PMI and you too can:• Seize the freedom to define your future and ours.
