In this role you serve as Finance Director and General Manager for ARDx’s Malta operations and interact with multiple Abbott and ARDx functions, including legal, tax, treasury, and finance. Externally you will cooperate and manage relationships with local banks, legal, tax and accounting advisors. In addition, you will be the key contact for all matters and transactions involving the 5 ARDx Malta entities. WHAT YOU’LL DO Serve as a member of the Board of Directors, Legal Representative and as a Company Secretary for 5 ARDx entities that are managed and controlled in Malta. Prepare board packages, lead board meetings and produce board minutes to ensure Abbott complies with all legal requirements. Review and execute intercompany and third-party agreements (e.g. related to clinical trials) and all other relevant legal documents and contracts. Prepare and maintain accounting records for the business operations managed and controlled from Malta and perform month-end close activities. Manage statutory and non-statutory audits. Plan and execute dividend payments and subsequent distribution up the entity chain, if desired. Support and analyze treasury requirements for the Malta entities, including tracking of the I/C balances between the Malta entities and other affiliates, the cash needs/deposits with Abbott’s banking organization, the hedging requirements of the various intercompany transactions with affiliates and reconciliation of the Malta bank accounts. Work closely with other Abbott and ARDx finance personnel and related functions in relevant or related entities to ensure proper accounting flows and operational accounting activities occur in accurate manner. This includes Abbott’s and ARDx’s shared service centers, business finance, IT, legal, HR and treasury. Manage, analyze and oversee third party service providers, transfer price requirements and relevant business and R&D flows of the 5 ARDx entities. Manage and ensure all income tax returns, VAT returns, local payroll filings and other filings, such as the KYC process, are prepared and/or paid on a timely and accurate basis. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING Bachelor degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting required MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 or more years’ experience in financial/strategic planning, budgeting, and/or forecasting analyses as well as meaningful interactions with tax, treasury and legal. Controllership and/or operational finance experience in a commercial region or business unit preferred.
