Location: Zurich Start date: As soon as possible Workload: 80 -100%Technology Legal Counsel Your contribution to KPMG Ensure the due diligence in technology onboarding and monitor compliance with all the relevant legal provisions and applicable laws in relation to the corporate technology and client technology-enabled offerings In cooperation with other stakeholders, ensure the compliance and fulfillment of the KPMG International Office of General Counsel (IOGC) requirements in the area of technology Provide legal advice and support the business teams in connection with legal risks and consult on legal issues relating to KPMG technology-enabled engagements, including, among others, such topics as IP-rights and export controls Advising the business teams and Digital Business Technology Team on development and licensing of KPMG technology solutions Advising on the contract structure and terms with KPMG and external counterparties, negotiate the terms of the contractual arrangements Provide advice and support to the engagement teams in applying the regulatory requirements for the implementation of the technology enabled offerings Design and develop technology contracting guidance in line with the newest regulatory developments and the Firm Technology Strategy In collaboration with other stakeholders, design and provide inputs for the AI Risk Framework in line with the KPMG Global Trusted AI roadmap and evaluation principles of the Artificial Intelligence solutions Working closely with the KPMG Alliance Team evaluating and negotiating the terms of the technology-related partnerships and business relationships Collaborate within the KPMG Network and exchange the best legal practices Perform the reviews, registration, and monitoring technology solutions through the entire engagements / deployment lifecycle: SaaS, PaaS, IaaS agreements, KPMG Inter-Firm Agreements, Technology licensing agreements within the KPMG Global Network and with the third parties, Technology-enabled offerings client engagement letters and technology product licensing terms This is what makes you successful Must or strongly preferred: Strong interest in technology, innovation and digital transformation Willingness to continuously learn and develop in the area of digital risk and technology regulatory environment (in particular in AI area) Proactiveness and enthusiasm for process improvements, optimization, and enabling attractive KPMG technology-enabled offerings Flexibility and open mind, out-of-the-box thinking, and self-development Strong analytical skills, with autonomous, objective mindset Client orientation, accurate working methods, and ability to navigate independently and proactively in a complex dynamic environment Ability to learn fast, challenge the facts, critical mindset, and a high level of diplomacy Higher education degree / and additional certification in the fields of law, technology law English and German languages at least at the level C1/C2 Nice to have or a plus: In-depth knowledge and/or previous practice with the technology regulations and laws, such as Intellectual Property Law, E-Commerce regulations, Export Controls, Digital Services Act, ISO standards Data Privacy, data protection experience Knowledge of data protection regulations Cybersecurity, IT/Technical, compliance or risk management background Interest or experience with regulatory environment for Machine Learning / LLM / AI solutions Vendor / third-party due diligence and risk management experience KPMG as an employer Technology Risk Governance, supervised by the Head of Technology Risk and reporting to the National Quality and Risk Management Partner, is a vibrant multidisciplinary team of experts working in close collaboration with many stakeholders.
